BREAKING NEWS...Houston is hot

Husband is in Trinidad (or on his way rather) and I don't know what to do with myself. I know what I SHOULD do, I should clean this house. It's hard to feel like cleaning when you know you're moving soon.  Am I stoked to pack up all this stuff? NO. I hate moving. I hate trying to decide what to keep or throw. I hate realizing that I am crazy in the stuff that I want to keep. But the thoughts of holidays in a new house makes me so happy :)

So Free Press Summer Fest was last weekend. It was HOT. I don't think I've spent that much time in the heat in all of my life. But the shows were just amazing. Even bands like Primus, that I don't even like, put on a hell of a show. Major Lazer was the best though, and seeing Willie Nelson in person was fantastic. I'd post some pictures but the card reader on my desk top is on the fritz.

There are racoons in the attic. The landlord knows, but hasn't sent anyone yet. They scare the living crap out of me. I dreamed last night that we had them in the new house too. UGHHHH. My poor cats, they are freaked too.

Hooping classes are going great. I know, I always talk about hooping, but give me a break! My last one was PACKED and I have a new one starting up Tuesday evenings. It kind of hit me the other day, I'm a small business owner! I actually provide a service, and people pay me for it. I have no boss but myself. And I control just how far I go. I'm feeling quite proud of myself. If you haven't checked out my site, you should, www.hoopcubed.com. I have an online class starting later this month, perfect for those outside of the Houston area.

Oh man, speaking of online classes, my Into to Sociology class starts tomorrow. It's through Princeton University! This website, coursera.org, has FREE classes from great schools. No, they don't count toward degrees, but they're perfect for people who just want more knowledge on certain subjects. My sweet sister in law has a degree in sociology and just got accepted to the masters program at LSU for social work, so I know she can help me if I need.

Also, my sister in law's best friend Mickey Shunick is still missing. Over 3 weeks now. It's absolutely heartbreaking. There is very little information out there and I don't know if the cops have any more close to their vests. Please go to www.findmickeynow.com for more information on her story and what you can do to help.

Well, that's my life lately. Busy and hot. As usual.
