Nothing makes me sad like people can

Nothing like politics to bring me down. What kind of society are we when we start cheering for death?

This video is less about Ron Paul, and more about the audience. What makes me even more sad are the people on my Facebook list who agree with the crowd. Do they really think that there are tons of people out there who can afford health care no problem, yet choose not to buy it? I can't even wrap my head around it all. I've been feeling down ever since I posted it. Even Rick Perry, a man who I have little to no respect for at all, said he was taken aback by the response of the audience. Sheesh.

What do you do when you start losing faith in human beings? I usually try to find feel good stories in the news, but even that isn't helping.

First, I have no need to have faith in any of the idiots who yell out "Let him die." I do not suffer idiots well, be they on the left or right. If I must place any faith in people I know just who those few people are. But much more that than I place my faith in God. That may not be a very popular thing to say today, but far better than "Let him die."

You are so, so, so right Papa Escobar. It's time for me to ignore those people. Thank you for putting things into that perspective for me :)

It took me a long time to get my head around the fact that in the US, people had to pay for healthcare. Growing up in a country where a doctor's visit is free and encouraged it was one helluva mental shock to learn that our nearest neighbours didn't enjoy that. That people had to suffer because of a lack of health care coverage for them and their families. I haven't yet got around the whole 'let him die' sort of people involved in that mess yet. I couldn't deny anyone healthcare if it was within my power to grant it.
