Ask, tell!

On Saturday, Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, which means in a couple of months (for the military to adjust. Whatever.) the men and women who have been serving for years already can mention their partners name without being thrown out. Good stuff! The main argument against it is that it's too hard of a thing for other (straight) soldiers to have to deal with, especially during war time. Call me crazy, but aren't our armed forces supposed to be the best and brightest? If you cannot handle finding out that a guy you've been living with for a year in the desert is gay, you need to get the hell out. We need men and women who can, at the very least, deal with working with people other than themselves. You know, just like everyone else does. Some people hate black people, some people hate white people, some people hate Mexicans, women, men, republicans, democrats, old people, disabled people, but you know what? Doesn't matter. You still have to work together. I know the US military is not in the business of babying people, so why was McCain trying just that? The guy said 3 years ago that he would support repealing DADT if the top brass were for it. Well they are!

I think McCain may be losing his mind. Why does he think that because the GOP won one part of congress, that all Americans are republicans? Why hasn't he read polls on DADT specifically? Watch this video if you have some time.
