Late 20's crisis? Not on your life.

As I mentioned before, my 29th birthday is this October. I've done a lot of crazy things in my life. Took a bus to New York City to meet a boy from the internet, went to a fancy corporate Christmas party in Boston and dined on a $300 dollar meal (I realize this doesn't sound terribly exciting, but to a small town 18 year old girl in 1999, that meal, coupled with an open bar, was amazing to me), traveled to Germany and went to the town where Silent Night was written, rode in a convertible down the Pacific Coast highway, let the water of Niagra Falls hit me in the face, among other things. As I've gotten older, my life has gotten a dash mundane. Very much moving through the motions of each day. So for the last year of my 20's, I, as well as many, many other people, have come up with a list of things I want to do. Not before I die, but in the one year before that fateful October 2011 day. I've got 50 things, and will have 52 weeks. Some are grand, some are less so.

1. Camp in the desert (actually doing a few weeks early. oh well, still counts)
2. Publish a book
3. Dye my hair an unnatural color (done it before, but not in over 10 years)
4. Take boudoir photos
5. Start a podcast
6. Go dancing with my husband
7. pull off a great April Fool’s prank
8. try sushi one more time
9. learn to play an instrument (banjo? guitar?)
10. make love in my backyard
11. learn to garden
12. sew a garment I’d wear in public
13. go to a bluegrass music festival
14. go to the drive in, in a convertible
15. excel at burlesque dance
16. go to the opera in a ball gown
17. swim in a hot spring
18. say the alphabet backwards, quickly
19. settle a grudge
20. have a spa day
21. go to a psychic
22. go to a Tea Party meeting
23. try absinthe (this may or may not have happened already)
24. parasail
25. write a letter to President Obama
26. ride a mechanical bull
27. camp on a beach
28. send a message in a bottle
29. go to a mosque
30. go fishing
31. sleep under the stars
32. learn the basics of Texas history
33. Write 5 hand written letters to family/friends around the world
34. NOT shop on Black Friday
35. learn to hula hoop again
36. participate in a flash mob
37. learn sign language (at least some)
38. send a king cake to a friend not in the South (start forming a line here)
39. go out looking at Christmas lights in a limousine
40. learn how to set up a home theater system
41. see snow this winter (even if I have to drive to get there)
42. send someone a mix CD with songs that remind me of them
43. find my place in religion
44. sleep one night at a haunted inn
45. write a fan letter to my favorite band
46. relearn how to do a proper cart wheel
47. take a ride on a water taxi
48. get just one more tattoo
49. hand make at least one gift for everyone on my Christmas list
50. reflect on how much life there is to live after 30, let the negativity regarding it go, enjoy people and their silly ways, and learn to enjoy my own.

What would be on your list?
