Here's Angie yanking a hair from Travis' beard. For $1 you can do this to, all donations go to a friend of his who has to have a surgery, and doesn't have health insurance.
So this weekend was my old roller derby team's first bout in Beaumont. No, they didn't win, but I'm sure it was a good learning experience for everyone. I had a blast, it was really neat to see my girls out there, giving it their all. Very cool to hang with my bff Angie too. I got to torture her with blue grass versions of Modest Mouse songs, and introduce her to the hilarity that is Jim Gaffigan. AND I conquered one of my greatest fears, driving over the Lake Charles bridge. This bridge is insane. It's incredibly steep and not in the greatest condition. I have literally had nightmares about this specific bridge as a kid. But since I couldn't remember the way to go around it, I didn't have much of a choice. You would have thought I just won an Olympic medal the way I was patting myself on the back. Also, I'm not the best driver. Not that I'm unsafe, I've never had an accident while driving or gotten a ticket. I'm just very nervous, constantly afraid that someone is going to sideswipe me. I should get over that before moving to Houston.
Speaking of driving, I was telling Husband that I wanted to take a defensive driving class, just for my own piece of mind. So I look them up, and apparently there are comedy defensive driving classes? Like, a comedian teaches it. And in many states, taking one of these counts towards getting a ticket thrown out. Is it just me, or is that a bit ridic? God, I'm so square sometimes.
