A Twilight Post. DON'T LEAVE!

twilight-poster-final

So, we still haven't moved. I'm not happy about this. Husband has to finish a project with his current department, and for some insane reason, it's taking absolutely forever. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to leave my family and friends, but I'm ready to get this going. Half of the house is packed, which is lovely and all, except that every book and every movie I want to read or watch are in boxes. Because of this, I had to read Twilight. Ok, I didn't have to, but what else was I supposed to read at 10pm to fall asleep? It was the only book left out because it's my moms and I wanted to return it to her. To my HORROR I got really into it. Like, REALLY into it. Like, can't stop talking about it. I've read all the books now and watched the first 2 movies and of course, developed this ridiculous crush on Robert Pattinson. Poor husband, I've tortured him with talk of it all. Vampires lol. I have no idea why I tend to get into things way after the fact, but it's pretty normal for me. I can't believe I'm even admitting to reading these books publicly on my blog, instead of in a dark bar after 4 drinks, the way I usually admit to embarrassing stunts. What books do you read that you're ashamed of? Don't worry, I won't tell.

Dude, I got suckered in to the damn Twilight books as well. I'm addicted. It's embarrassing how far over the edge of in love with Twilight I am.

Corey and I just watched Season One of True Blood on DVD... it has vampires, shapeshifters AND mindreaders! Plus vampire blood is an ecstasy-like drug for humans! I'm kind of ashamed of how much I liked it, too. Plus they have this whole vampires coming out = not-so-subtle subtext for talking about LGBT rights without really talking about LGBT rights thing going on, which is kinda cool. Mom and Sarah want me to check out Twilight since I liked True Blood, maybe you should check out True Blood since you liked Twilight. Be warned, though, it takes at least 3 episodes to really get into it... don't give up! Love your blog and will miss you guys!!!

Heather, I never ever comment except that I AM THE SAME when it comes to Twilight. Do I know that it's substandard writing? Yes. Do I realize that Stephenie Meyer pulls every twist out of the world of "teen fiction"? Yes.

But am I absolutely, irrevocably in love with the vampire? YES.

My students got me hooked, and I don't know if I'll ever forgive them.

Might I suggest, for the void I know is in your heart, http://www.twilighted.net, for really well written fanfiction. You'll have to register to read it because many of the stories are rated R. :)

@Jonathan, everyone has been telling me to get into True Blood, I really want to. Unfortunately we canceled HBO after Bill Maher got too predictable. Maybe it's on netflix? It's based in Louisiana right? I can definitely see myself liking it. Husband bought me Interview With A Vampire (yes, I'm one of the last people one Earth to read it), so I'm going to get into that this weekend. We will miss ya'll too, can't wait for ya'll to visit so we can hit up Montrose!

@Danielle, I made so much fun of everyone who liked Twilight, and now I'm so ashamed lol. My mom, for months, kept telling me I would love it and I was such a snob. Thanks for the link, I'm bookmarking it right now! Definitely need some fanfic to keep the dream alive :)
