Craft Day!

craftday 005edit

Yesterday was craft day here at our house! Kat came over, along with a couple of her friends, and we spent a few hours making lots of different things, like fascinators, embroidery, and jewelry, including the earrings below that Kat helped me with.

Gorgeous! I think we're going to do this once a week, which will definitely help me get a leg up on the Christmas gift crafting that I want to do long before the holidays creep up. I want to get more into making bath products, along with some sewing. I have a great sewing machine (two actually, including the antique one my mom gave me) but I have no idea how to use it. All of the sewing I do is by hand, and since it's post 1790, I'd like to use the technology I have in my own home.

Before I forget, I'm going to be guest blogging tomorrow! wwww.thatguyoverthere.com is run by one of my really good friends, Chris. Tomorrow starts a once a week blogging gig that I'll be doing there every Thursday. I'm very excited, mainly because this affords me the chance to be a bit raunchier than I can be here. Check it out, he's a funny, clever guy, with just a touch of a**hole. ;)

Looks like a very productive and creative day! I love the earrings, very classy. I wish I had a machine and do any sewing by hand also. Good luck learning the technology.

@LenoxKnits, thanks! The machine I've got is a hand me down from my mom, a singer tiny tailor. With that name it should be easy to learn, but hasn't been so far. Walmart.com has got a few machines in the $70-100 range with good reviews, you might want to check it out. Thanks for the comment :)
